Review 3Slumdog Millionaire (2008) IMDB: 8.7 To be honest, I somehow think the rate of this year’s best movie would drop slightly down after going through by more audience. This movie has a complex background of culture, human nature and love. I’m impressed the way the director has boldly filmed the dark side of a society that a country wouldn’t be so proud of, but thankfully, that is the charm of a superior film. I wish my country could have done that.
Revolutionary Road (2008) IMDB: 7.9 I wasn’t expecting too much from this movie because it has a big deal of commercial element in it. And the preview is not fascinating. But I regarded this as a good movie because it has put two extreme in a 50s American family – love and hate. Where is typical but still exploratory. A husband that always forced to be willing to take responsible of a family but overlook what his family needed to be. It gives a question of putting passion above living, or giving passion away for living. DiCaprio and Winslet have done a great job.
The boy In The Stripped pajamas (2008) IMDB: 7.9 My top favorite movie of the year. It’s an classic yet outstanding story of WW II, a time being seen through an eye of a boy, There’s no war, yet no humanitarian, there’s no sadness, or joy, no blindness, or sight. Confusion is the fence, standing between people yet untouchable. |
